Training Course for Managers (Administrators) in the Healthcare System of Ukraine

 

One of the major factors for successful realization of the health reform in Ukraine is creations of a core of managers who have the appropriate level of knowledge and skills, and who are personally ready to apply concrete actions and procedures of reforming, such as creations of autonomous healthcare facilities, implementation of contract relations between the medical services provider and purchaser, costing of these services, using special software.

For the purpose of training such a group managers, the EU project "Health Financing and Managements in Ukraine" in cooperation with the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" (NaUKMA), Kyiv Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education named after P.L.Shupik (KMAPE) and the National Academy of State Management at the President of Ukraine (NASM) initiated a lecture course for managers and administrators in the healthcare system in Ukraine.

The training course will consist of 6 modules on the topics:

1. Creation of autonomous health facilities
2. Conclusions of contracts for medical services procurement
3. Financial management at autonomous health facilities (budgeting and costing)
4. Software for medical services "purchasers" and "providers"
5. Quality of medical services: general quality management
6. Health insurance: organizational and financial aspects

Besides, training courses and seminars using modern means of distance learning will be organized.

The first training seminar in the topic "Creation of autonomous health facilities" will be carried out in partnership with NaUKMA. The activity will be held on October, 13-14, 2005 in build. ēV of NaUKMA, room 101. The seminar begins at 9.00.
